This Sexy Lady!

The text behind her reads:

"He is in breach of contract and therefore, it is void. You are no longer mortal, but immortal. You are no longer powerless, but powerful. Destiny shackles you no more. You are unjudgeable."

Some more Sexy Stuff

I've been learning how to use Substance Painter. It's a step towards upping my 3D modeling game. So far, I really like it. Here's a sample of what I learned after watching some Youtube tutorials.

The shoes I took from my bunny girl 3D model. I cleaned them up (a little) and UV textured them. Brought these into Substance Painter and played with brushes and layers. There's a nice zipper material which makes doing zippers like what you see on those boots much easier.

Another Sexy Lady?

She still looks like a lifeless mannequin, but Catherine is one of my old 3D projects from January of 2020 (you know 15 years ago at this point). Originally her zipper was done using a 3D model, but I've been reworking some of the 3D topology and using Substance Painter to do the zipper and other materials.

Another nice thing about Substance Painter is that you can paint displacement maps which means, you can paint 3D details. I redid the lining of her dress that way which further reduces having mesh geometry. The reason why that's nice is that I don't have to worry about it when I eventually re-rig her. I've also added some details to the cap, but they didn't turn out very well. You really need a nice and big UV space to project onto for a displacement map to work well.

How's That Webcomic Coming Along?

Well... it's coming a long.

I'll admit slowly. Some of the initial pages are a bit long. I also decided I wanted to play with Blender for some of the backgrounds. That takes time to make assets and kitbash things together.

I feel as if I'm learning things and improving with my 3D modeling and scene layout. I've still got a long way to go, but I hope 3D becomes a tool in my artistic arsenal. Plus, I'm hoping to reuse a lot of the assets I'm creating.

Another challenge I'm undertaking is trying to use background environments to also give us a sense of who our main character, Kamiko, is like.

That all takes time.

Oh, and yeah, I guess I'm also dabbling with my other 3D projects, Substance Painter, and... uh, Live 2D. More about that next week.

In any case, I'm having fun doing it.

When new pages will start releasing, I'm not sure. I may also run out of content before then -- there's a small buffer of these pin-up drawings at my disposal for the time being.

That's all I got this week. More soon. Have a great weekend!
