Who is Catherine?

Her full name is Catherine Meyer and she was a character in an old story of mine. You may see bits and pieces of that incorporated into Magical Girl Kamiko... maybe.

Not that you'd have any idea what was the old story was.

...eventually I made her into a pinup model completely divorced from that novel.

Art Details

The emblem on the cap is fashioned after the U.S. Great Seal. I should have gone for something easier to draw, but I like the look of it.

There's a lot of flaws with this painting but even after all these years I still like this one a lot. I think it's because, this is the first one that "I got right."

I did a third version after this that was more cel-shaded, but like I said, this one is still my favorite version.

As recent as last year I did a CG version of Catherine. Again, it's not great looking, but it's my first foray into sculpting a CG character. I'm always learning new things as I do art, and I'll never get it right the first time. Maybe one day there'll be a version that replaces this 2006 one as my favorite.
